A Walk in Maine Woods with Sea Sounds, Triptych

Description

48 x 72 inches, combined media on plywood panels

This is one of the most exciting new paintings for me. It began with the wood panels themselves, which took on an old choir aspect, like the chorister stalls we occupied in Notre Dame for a Gregorian chant concert one time in Paris. Then, paint sticks with lobster buoy colors, and fragments of the same colors were applied over white rolled on in horizontal bands. I had absolutely no preconception that it would end up being a walk in the coastal Maine woods. It is a good place to be.
